Resumen:
In this work the assessment of two genetic technologies, as well as an elementomic analysis was performed inmaize based on elemental analysis of leaves and grains tissues. Leaf and grains of maize were mineralized in amicrowave oven and analysed by microwave induced plasma optical emission spectroscopy (MPAES) for thequantification of eleven elements: Al, Ba, Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, P. Pb, Sr and Zn. Data analysis was performed byprincipal components analysis (PCA) obtaining two models which belongs to leaf and grain, which explain a 96and 95% of original information respectively, grouping both genetic technologies. Then, classification modelswere obtained using linear discriminant analysis (LDA) achieving a 100% of correct classification in training andprediction sets for leaf and grains models. On the other hand, an elementomic study was performed through thedescription of translocation mechanisms that occurs for several elements in maize plant. The proposed analysiscan be useful in routine control labs to analyse genetic technologies in maize based on elemental analysis, avoiding the use of genetic techniques.
