Resumen:
Larrea divaricata exerts a dual effect on the proliferation ofBW5147 cells. The aim of this work was to analyze the effect ofleukotrienes on the antiproliferative action of the extract inrelation to cyclic adenosinemonophosphate production andprotein kinase C activation. The extracts induced cyclicadenosinemonophosphate and inhibited protein kinase C butinduced leukotriene B4 production, which exerted contraryeffects. These results suggest the finding of an extract free ofcompounds, which can increase leukotriene B4 level, in orderto obtain amore active extract to be used in the treatment oflymphomas, positivelymodulated by leukotrienes.
