Forests under selective logging in Northern Argentina are invaded by native bamboo species. To assess bamboo effects on forest dynamics we measured environmental conditions and monitored tree regeneration in sites where Chusquea ramosissima were absent (by both, bamboo clearing and mortality events) and in control sites (living bamboo). This species reduces light penetration, affecting growth, mortality, ecophysiology and diversity of tree saplings.
