We present new geochemical data of pre-Carboniferous ultramafic and mafic rocks exposed on the eastern part of Frontal Cordillera of Mendoza province, in the area of Salamanca Mine and Quebrada de la Yesera. The comparison of these results with those published elsewhere shows that in Frontal Cordillera at least two types of dikes can be differentiated: one group with OIB and the other E-MORB signature. The E-MORB type correlates with the Western Precordillera basic rocks. The ultramafic samples from Salamanca Mine have primitive mantle signature while those of the Metales Belt and Precordillera have E-MORB geochemical signature.
