Resumen:
I am going to talk about the bilateral Oncogenomic and Bioinformatic Core, that will generate and provide genomic data to the projects of the U54 consortium. The Oncogenomics and Bioinformatics Core (OGB) is organized into two sub-cores: The subcore Oncogenomics, directed by Sion Williams at the UM, and the Bioinformatics Sub-Core directed by Martin Abba, at the University of La Plata.Among the two sub cores there will be a bridge that will allow the constant exchange of samples and data. This Core will also provide investigators access to resources that are not currently available for the Argentina Labs and Research centers. Thus, Slide 2: The bilateral OGB-Core facility will be in charge of the design, generation, pre-processing, statistical and data mining analysis of the genomics data generated by the NGS platform available at OGB Core. Therefore, the genomic and clinical data will be centralized providing unified resources of functional genomics that will serve as a center to coordinate convergent approaches.Furthermore, the OGB Core will provide training to all junior scientists, Argentina investigators from the network as well as new investigators attracted via Pilots program offered by the U54 Consortium.Slide 3: The three interrelated projects of the U54 will employ the Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) platform to perform mutational and transcriptomics studies on human tumor biopsies, tissue and tumor samples from animal models and cancer cell lines. All will generate terabytes of data that will be pre-processed and analyzed in the context of each experimental design.
