Resumen:
Prostate cancer (PCa) is the most common type of cancer and the third cause of death by cancer in Argentinian men. The incidence and mortality of PCa worldwide correlate with age and bad dietary habits. Recent evidence has revealed that high-fat diet (HFD) plays a role in PCa development and progression. MiRNAs are small non-coding RNA molecules that regulate gene expression. Our aim was to investigate the effect of HFD on the expression of PCa-related miRNAs and their relevance in PCa patients. C57BL/6J male mice chronically fed with HFD or control diet (CD) were s.c. inoculated with murine TRAMP-C1 PCa cell line. After tumor growth, mice were sacrificed, tumors were collected and miRNAs isolated and analyzed by GeneChip® miRNA 4.0 Array (Affymetrix) microarrays. We identified 6 up- and 18 down-regulated miRNAs (FDR
