Resumen:
The aim of this study was determining the influence of the yeast Pichia kudriavzevii (0.1%) on macroscopic and microscopic changes, and residual levels of aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) and monensin (MON) in the livers of broilers fed with diets containing 100 µg/kg of AFB1 alone and in combination with 50 mg/kg of MON. One-day-old Cobb broilers (n=120) were individually weighed and randomly selected. The experimental diets for each treatment were formulated as follows: T1: basal diet (B); T2: B + MON (50 mg/kg); T3: B + yeast (0.1%); T4: B +AFB1 (100 μg/kg): T5: B + MON + yeast; T6: B + AFB1 + yeast; T7: B + AFB1 + MON + yeast; T8: B + AFB1 + MON. At the end of the feeding trial, macroscopic and microscopic changes in the liver were evaluated, and AFB1 and MON residues were determined in the broiler livers. The residual AFB1 levels in livers were significantly higher (P
