Resumen:
Synchrotronbased o perando characterization is a huge challeng e i n many fiel ds, a nd s olid oxidefuel cell is no exception. Despite of this, results arisen from this kind of studies are usually highlyrelevant for advancing in the materials and understanding the processes involved under device oper-ation con dition s . In this work we will focus on the c ell design for its use in operando studies for in-termediate temperature solid oxide fuel cells (IT SOFC ) electrodes based on iron substituted stronti-um titanates doped with nickel. T hin film electrodes were prepared b y pulse laser deposition (PLDon top of a n yttria stabili z ed zirconia YSZ ) single crystal substrate and were characterized bymeans o f scanning electron micr oscopy , ellipsometry , and X ray diffraction and reflectivity . Em-bedded m icropatterning of Pt was don e by lift off photolithography process to fabricate interdi gitat-ed contacts aimed to avoi d electronic charging during X ray spectroscopic operan do techniques.Highly active counter electrodes were fabricated by sputtering nanostructure d Pt thin films . Thes emo del cells were electrochemically tested under air atmosphere between 500 and 700 ºC
