Resumen:
One of the few exact relations in the theory of confined fluids is the wall theorem (WT). It applies, in principle,  to fluids confined by hard walls and under equilibrium conditions. The WT relates through an ideal-gas-like equation of state the pressure on the confining hard wall with the local density of the fluid on the wall and the temperature of the system. In this work we generalize the WT to fluids in non-equilibrium conditions, attaining stationary states, when they are confined by hard walls. The formal demonstration is complemented with molecular dynamics simulations, showing that even under extreme conditions of very high shear stresses and thermal gradients the WT remains valid.
