Resumen:
Thermal Neutrons (TN) are present in several accelerators including LINACs used in medical or scientific applications, cyclotrons, etc. The detection of these neutrons is of interest not only if they are the key particle of the experiment, but also for radioprotection reasons. This work deals with the use of CMOS image sensors (CIS) for the detection of thermal neutrons. CIS are integrated pixels arrays originally designed for acquiring pictures in consumer electronics. However, their sensitivity to detect ionizing particles [2,3], low noise due to technology scaling and the integration in the same chip of reading and control electronics, makes them suitable for the detection of charged particles. The deposition of a conversion layer (CL) sensitive to TN allows their indirect detection.
