Resumen:
Molecular engineering driven by theEpoxide Routefacilitates the straight-forward synthesis of hybrid layered CoIIhydroxides covalently functionalizedwith dicarboxylic molecules. An unex-pected modification on the magnetismthat solely depends on the parity of theorganic linker is reported. The acutechanges in the spontaneous magnetiza-tion, from ca. 15 K to 60 K for odd andeven hybrids, respectively, paves theway towards a new level of tuning inthe magnetism of layered hydroxides.More information can be found in theCommunication by G.
