Resumen:
The aim of this work is to analyze the effect of micro structuralparameters (secondary dendritic arm spacings) on themicrohardness and corrosion behavior of hypoeutectic Al-Cualloys. Experimental results include HV microhardness values, corrosion and pitting potential and current density. It was foundthat high cooling rates during solidification provide finerdendritic spacings, which encourage better mechanicalproperties. The Vickers microhardness increases as the contentsof copper in the alloy increases. The most influencingmicro structural variable for corrosion resistance has been foundto be the secondary dendrite arm spacing. It has been found thatthat corrosion resistance decreases with the increasing insecondary spacing until 10wt.% of Cu
