Resumen:
The labour and political conflicts that took place in the city of Villa Constitución between 1970 and 1975 show in detail crucial aspects of the national social and political contentions in Argentina that ended in the coup d’état of 1976. Specifically, we will refer to the relationship between the increase in the working class’ combats and civil war. Both processes will be approached as part of the same class struggle with no bias of a linear relationship between the working class conflicts and the armed struggle. As part of the same process, both forms of contention interrelate and mutually condition each other all along. However, this happens in a complex or partial way. Far from an ahistorical point of view, this paper tries to show different responses (legal/illegal, violent/pacific) of social and political actors, as political tactics.
