Resumen:
The general objective was to analyze to what extent and how questions related to sexualities and gender are being taught and researched at university level in Argentina. The specific objectives that guided the project were: a) To research the conceptual frameworks and the methodologies applied in the teaching of issues related to sexualities and gender in the fields of Medicine, Law, Psychology, Social Sciences and Humanities in all the public universities and some selected private institutions; b) To identify obstacles and favourable factors for the formal inclusion of these issues in public and private universities in the local context; c) To explore possible links among disciplines as well as among academic, political and social activism arenas, with the purpose of promoting the theoretical work and the production of teaching materials in the fields of sexualities and gender. In this article we will firstly analyze the development of the field of sexualities and gender studies at university level. Then we will describe the main issues, perspectives are pedagogical strategies used to approach these topics. Finally, we will analyze the main obstacles to the inclusion of these studies in the curricula and suggest strategies that could favour their inclusion.
