Resumen:
Bovine trichomonosis, a disease of the bovine urogenital tract, iscaused by the protozoan Tritrichomonas foetus (Tf). It causesendometritis, infertility and premature death of the embryo, whichgenerates considerable economic losses. Have a worldwidedistribution and in Argentina it´s considered endemic.Excretion/secretion antigens (AES) have been shown to bevirulence factors in both Trichomonas vaginalis (Tv), Tf homologin humans, and in other organisms and constitute a target for thedevelopment of diagnostic methods and vaccines. The objectivewas to determine the AES repertoire of Tf. Six isolates wereincubated with buffer TIB to perform AES purification and thenwere filtered and concentrated by ultracentrifugation. An SDSPAGEwas performed and then sent for analysis by MALDI-TOF.The data obtained were analyzed and compared against the Tfand Tv genomes. The results showed that there is a lowhomology between AES of Tf vs Tv, however, a high homologywas observed between the different Tf isolates. The proteinspresent in AES of Tf were classified functionally, showing amongothers the following groups: posttranslational modificationproteins (14%), binding proteins (12%), vesicular transportproteins (11%) and unknown function proteins (18%). Inconclusion: a) There are great similarities between the AES ofdifferent Tf isolates, which allows to identify the profile ofexcretion/secretion . b) The differences with Tv allow us to infercertain specificity of the AES of Tf c) According to the diverseproteins found, different trials can be approached to evaluatenew targets for diagnosis and treatment of this disease.
