As crustal or slab contamination of basalts of several low volume volcanic fields from Chubut and Río Negro provinces can be ruled out on the basis of their minor elements contents; crystal fractionation models have been tested to prove if they share a common source. Results demonstrate that few samples may be related to crystal fractionation at a pressure of 5 kb.
