Resumen:
In the present paper three specimens of Hyporthodus niveatus (Valenciennes 1828) are reported southwards of the previous distributional range. The presence of H. niveatus in Argentina is added to other tropical or warm-temperate fish species which distributional range was expanded to higher latitudes.
