Resumen:
Numerous antimicrobial agents, which are able toeffectively inhibit the growth of microorganisms, havebeen developed1. Among them, biocidal polymers suchas N-halamine antimicrobial polymers have beenextensively studied over the past decade. These Nhalamineshave long-term stability in aqueous solutionand for their dry storage. N-halamines are particularlyeffective, safe to humans, and environmentallyfriendly1,2. The objective of this work was to modifysuperficially polypropylene (PP) films with N-halamidegroups of adsorbed barbituric acid, to later evaluatetheir antimicrobial activity (AMA) againstStaphylococcus aureus
