Resumen:
The development and kinetics of a bioprocess are determined by growing conditions, specific growth rate, yield coefficients, bioreactor features, among other variables. In this context, the non-linear mathematical model of the growth kinetics of a recombinant microorganism that produces an enzyme led to the design of an algorithm which allows the identification of parameters. This algorithm uses the Nelder-Mead optimization method to find the optimal solution that minimizes the quadratic error between the measurements and the numerical solution of the mathematical model. Experimental data (biomass concentration) were used for testing the algorithm, whose behavior has been approached by smooth functions, in order to obtain a greater number of samples to use in the algorithm. The parameters identified are the participants in the kinetics of the reaction, such as specific growth rates, inhibition and affinity constants, and yield coefficients. Furthermore, it is shown using simulation results that the algorithm obteins better results if it is used biomass and protein concentration instead of using biomass concentration alone.
