Resumen:
In this chapter we provide a broad description of recent relevant examples of the implementation of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) in nanoarchitectonic designs. MOFs provide not only highly tailorable porosity with the possibility of differential adsorption, but also precisely positioned catalytically active sites arising from uncoordinated metallic ions present in the structure. The implementation of nanoarchitectonics for the combination of MOFs with other materials allows the creation of composites with countless applications and potential uses in the fields of energy and biosensing.
