Bimetallic catalysts based on Pt modified by a second metal (Sn, Pb, Ge) have been gaining in importance, from their classical utilization in the reforming process of naphthas, up to their use in reactions concerning environmental and fine chemistry. Ramallo-López et al. report a study of structural and electronic characteristics of Pt and PtSn nanoclusters in supported catalysts.
