Resumen:
The Estratos de Mascasín, a sequence known only from subsurface at the YPF-LR-SM es-1 well, constitutes part of the widespread Upper Paleozoic rocks deposited in the Paganzo Basin, northwestern Argentina. Palynomorphs are abundant in the intervals 3423-3429m and 3336-3342m. Although mentioned in previous studies, they are described here in detail for the first time. A new genus, Grossusporites, and four newly named species, Apiculatisporis densus, Dibolisporites variatus, Granulatisporites plicatus and Vallatisporites pauper, are formally proposed. Originally, the lowest association was considered the only record of the Argentinian Potonieisporites Palynozone. However, the 70 species recognized in this study are found in other Late Carboniferous Argentinean assemblages belonging to Raistrickia densa-Convolutispora muriornata Biozone.
