Resumen:
In this paper morphology of seedlings of four woody species of Capparis L. (Capparidaceae) are described: C. flexuosa, C. retusa, C. speciosa and C. tweediana. The four taxa have phanerocotylar germination; C. flexuosa, C. retusa and C. tweediana are epigeal, and C. speciosa is semiepigeal. The seedlings characteristics, such as hipocotyl, kind and position of cotyledons, rest of seed coat and cataphyllus permit recognise three morphological types of seedlings in the studied species. The anisocotily and tricotily are reported for the first time in the genus.
