Resumen:
Product distribution in the methylation of m-cresol can be controlled by shape selectivity. On HZSM5 selectivity to 2,5 DMP (smallest isomer) was 57% (71% of DMP formed). After elimination of the external acid sites of HMCM22 by poisoning with 2,4 DMQ, selectivity to 2,5 DMP of 82% was obtained.
