The arid and semi-arid regions of Argentina has been subject to an accelerated  desertification by cause of numerous human activities as grazing, deforestation or agriculture. These activities can produce changes in the spatial pattern of the landscape altering a variety of ecological processes for loss of natural habitats and diversity of native species.  The results of this study applying satellital imagery and pattern recognition to the region known as The Man and Biosphere Reserve of Ñacuñan and adjacent grazed areas are presented.
