Identification, quantification and dissolution of tablets containing soy estract

Preventive and protective actions of soy´s isoflavones in hormone dependent cancers, osteoporosis and cardiovascular diseases were reported. Soy´s isoflavones were employed in the treatment of menopause symptoms. Most of the 12 reported isoflavones are found as glycosides. The hydrolysis of these glycosides occurs in the small intestine where the aglycones are absorbed. Then the importance to determine the total contain of isoflavones calculated as aglycones in soy extracts and formulations. The aim of this work was the TLC identification, HPLC quantification and dissolution test of tablets with soy extract containing 40 % isoflavones.
