Resumen:
Snakes of different species ( both sexes and different ages) coming from several parts of Argentina were kept at two serpentaria. in individual boxes with an environment temperature of 25°C and light/dark. cycles of 12 hours. Specimens of the Genus Bothrops a nd Crotalus were fed two mouse a month, while Micrurus were fed one snake a month. Venom extractions were performed each two-three months. The venoms were dissicated under vacuum or lyophilized. The yearly venom yield was estimated, the values in this table) represents the yields as dry venom per specimen during summertime (January-March), the period where yield of venom was greather for Bothrops, Crotalus and Micrurus Genus. The relationship between body weight (wt) and y ield of venom (mg V/ b.w.) was estimated in mg of venom each 100 g of snake body wt. The difference in sex-size-yield, relations of venom yield by a spontaneous bite with snake size and besides the yield of lyophilized venom for some Genus are disscused.
