Resumen:
A biodegradable scaffold in tissue engineering serves as a temporary skeleton to accommodate and stimulate new tissue growth. Chitosan scaffold are biocompatible but show poor mechanical properties that could be improved by blending with other polymers. Here we report on the development of a biodegradable scaffold made of chitosan and polybpropiolactone or polyecaprolactone polymers. UMR106 osteoblast-like cells readily attached to the scaffolds, proliferated and spread well on the matrices, and expressed alkaline phosphatase activity compared to tissue culture dishes. In conclusion, the chitosan-polyester blends seems to be appropriated for osteointegration.bpropiolactone or polyecaprolactone polymers.
