Resumen:
This work reports results obtained in the first stages of an isotopic investigation at LaPlata and surrounding zones. The research is being developed within the framework of theARCAL XIH-IAEA, INGEIS contract. Salinization and recharge dynamics were studied bymeans of stable and radiactive environmental isotopes 2H, K0, 3H, I4C as well as chemicalanalyses.Isotopic results evidence more than one origin of salinization, according to thechemical types of water involved: 1) brackish waters resulting of the mixture of freshPuelche or Pampeano groundwaters and variable contribution of the Río de la Plata withsea type waters found in the low plain; 2) mainly sulfated waters that could be rechargedin the low plain, which sulfate content could be explained as resulting of sulfur redox processes;3) waters salinized only by leaching during their flow. Carbon-14 and tritiumanalysis allowed to determine the relative age of several samples and throw some light onthe aquifer dynamic in the unsaturated and saturated zones.
