Resumen:
My participation in entomology beggins in 2007 when I performed my thesis of grade which consisted in evaluate the acute and sub-acute toxicity of the ethanolic extract of the S. molle fruits in rats. After of working for a while in molecular biology, in 2010 I could start to perform my doctoral thesis (you could observe the cover page in the monitor) entitled BIONOMIC STUDY OF THE BEETLE FAUNA OF FORENSIC INTEREST IN NATURAL AND CONTROLLED CONDITONS IN THE AREA OF BAHÍA BLANCA (PROVINCE OF BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA), under the direction of Doctor Néstor Centeno and Deputy director Doctor Elena Visciarelli. From this moment I introduced in the Forensic Entomology world. First I studied:?Bionomic of the beetle fauna of forensic interest under natural conditions?Sampling methodologies: Cadavers Vs Pits fall?Bionomic of the beetle fauna of forensic interest under laboratory conditions?Taphonomic effects: cadaveric beetles action in mammals tissuesThis implied to study:?Process of decomposition?Taxonomic detemination?Abundance, diversity, composition?Life cycles?Trophic roles?Cadaveric succession?Comparison of both methodologies (pits fall and porcine cadavers were used).?Establishment of colonies of: D. maculatus, N. rufipes and N. carnaria?Effect of different temperatures (30°C; 27°C; 24°C; 20°C; 15°C) on D. maculatus development ?Abundance and duration of each instar and stage of development and total duration?Morphological parameters of larvae?Estimation of equations of the relation of morphological parameters and time at different temperatures?Biological strategies of D. maculatus?TaphonomyIn addition, if well the aims were the study of beetles, all the fauna was registered. Then I continue with studies about: thaphonomy, D. maculatus biology and simultaneously, in 2016 I started to develop the research line/area entomotoxicology. Species of Diptera and Coleoptera were evaluated. In brief, until now, I have performed different studies that encompass different areas and subjects of forensic entomology: decomposition process, taxonomy, biology, cadaveric succession, thaphonomic effects, sampling, entomotoxicology.
