Descripción:
>The goal of this project is to develop and validate novel and improved tools to contribute to the control of cattle diseases, which are either prevalent in Argentine or/and are naturally transmitted to human been (zoonoses). The Specific Aims are the following: 1) Improve and assess candidate vaccine, based on life attenuated strains; to protect animals against infection with Mycobacterium bovis and Mycobacterium avium paratuberculosis, the agents of tuberculosis (TB) and paratuberculosis (PTB), respectively. 2) Develop of novel non-living vaccines that are efficacious in prime-boost vaccination strategies against TB and PTB. 3) Develop a complementary diagnostic assay based on the detection of INF-g in blood samples to differentiate TB and PTB infected from vaccinated animals (DIVAs). 4) Validate and improved a Multiple Antigen Print Immunoassay (MAPIA) to assist the diagnosis of brucellosis, paratuberculosis, leptospirosis and neosporosis in cattle.
