Resumen:
We discuss the interaction of moving charged particles with bulk and surface plasmons insystems ranging from macro- to nanoscopic scale.For planar surfaces, and using a semi classical dielectric formulation [1], we analyze the differencesand similarities that arise when we compare incoming and outgoing trajectories. With the citedformulation, we have obtained a detailed behavior of the induced potential, incorporatingreasonably well the effects due to the local environment of the impurity. It provides a greatsimplicity in the analysis, and a way to calculate the corrections necessary for this approach.We find some novel oscillatory structures that can be ascribed to an interference effects betweendirect and reflected plasmon excitations [2].
