Resumen:
It is well known and has been reported that the Argentinean Chaco-Pampean Plain suffers from higharsenic concentrations in groundwater. In this area numerous farms with pastures for cattle arelocated. Total arsenic concentrations in cow?s raw milk have been determined,but data about thearsenic uptake in cattle tissues are scarce. This is why we studied total arsenic concentrations ingroundwater and in liver and kidney samples of cattle from this area. Arsenic speciation analysis wascarried out in order to evaluate a possible risk for humans.
