In the Phase II study we have focused on the following primary tasks: 1. Develop a transversely isotropic constitutive model for the cornea including the nonlinear sti§ening based on collagen stretching. 2. Parameter evaluation studies based on: (i) cornea ináation experimental studies and (ii) incisional surgery including ALK, RK and LASIK. 3. Develop a hydration model for the cornea based on a biphasic theory. 4. Parameter identiÖcation and model validation based on data from in-vivo proÖlom- etry of the LASIK procedure. 5. To investigate the mechanics of LASIK.
