In this paper, the modeling and control of aflyback converter used to dim a LED array is presented.Feedback is designed based on the linearized version ofthe true averaged state-space model of the converter. Thedynamics is analyzed for all operation range and then,the worst case is chosen. Since the driver is part of anintegrated circuit, there exist limitations in the type ofcontroller to be implemented and in the desired performance.Nevertheless, commercial specifications are fulfilled for alloutput current values. The performance of the closed-loopsystem is corroborated via numerical simulations.
