Resumen:
The synthetic utility and applications of the target products is highlighted. The previous methods for the preparation of D-galactono-1,4-lactone are reported and the advantages of the procedure described are discussed. Experimental details for the preparation of the following compounds are provided:- Sodium D-galactonate, - D-galactono-1,4-lactone,- Methyl 2,3:4,5-di-O-isopropylidene- D-galactonate,- Methyl 6-bromo-6-deoxy-2,3:4,5-di-O-isopropylidene- D-galactonate.
