Resumen:
Wind loads are a fundamental aspect to consider during the design of photovoltaic systems. The effect of the wind over the individual rows of photovoltaic panels depends, not only on the dimensions of the panels, but also on the configuration of the array (spacing between rows and height above the ground). In this article, computational simulation is employed to analyze the effect of the wind over different arrays of photovoltaic panels. The arrays differ from each other on the number of photovoltaic rows they have. The software OpenFoam is employed to carry out the CFD simulations. The aerodynamic loads on the photovoltaic rows and the characteristics of the airflow around them are analyzed for different configurations of the array.
