Resumen:
A novel approach to modeling the wind-excited oscillations of long-span bridges is described. The method uses a discrete-vortex, time-accurate aerodynamic model of the bridge and attached wings and integrates all the equations of motion numerically, interactively, and simultaneously in the time domain. It is shown that model accurately simulates the flutter of a bridge alone. Then the governing equations for the bridge and wing are derived. Currently, results are being calculated.
