Resumen:
Aplastodiscus includes 15 species of green treefrogs from South America? distributed mostly in the Atlantic Forest of Brazil? Paraguay? Argentina?and in the Brazilian Cerrado. The genus include medium sized species distributed into three groups? the A. perviridis? A. albosignatus and A.albofrenatus groups. Although the monophyly of the species groups has been tested and corroborated in previous studies? there are still six specieswhose relationships with the groups have been inferred based on putative phenotypic synapomorphies? without actual quantitative test. In thistalk? we present a phylogenetic analysis where all but one of these species are included to the previous taxonomic sampling. Our goals include totest the monophyly of the species groups? and to explore the relations of its species. Our dataset includes mitochondrial (12S? 16S? ND1 and CO1)and the nuclear genes (Rhod? Tyr? Rag-1? SIA and TNS3) for about 70 terminals. Our analysis corroborates recent analyses? where the A.albofrenatus Group is sister taxon of the A. perviridis plus A. albosignatus groups. Our results indicate that at least four species of Aplastodiscusremain undescribed? raising the specific diversity of the genus at 26%. We further discuss the evolution of some phenotypic characters in thecontext of all Cophomantini.
