Resumen:
The analysis of soil samples from the localities of Colanzuli, Campo Carreras, Pueblo Viejo (province of Salta) and Chaupi Rodeo (province of Jujuy) revealed the presence of different phytophagous nematodes. Representatives of the species Nacobbus aberrans and of the genera Criconemella, Pratylenchus and Tylenchorhynchus were found in all the samples. Cysts of Globodera sp. were extracted from samples from the three first localities. Other genera observed were: Aorolaimus (Colanzuli, Chaupi Rodeo), Helicotylenchus (Colanzuli, Campo Carreras) and Rotylenchus (Pueblo Viejo, Chaupi Rodeo). Up to the present, N. aberrans and Globodera sp. would be the phytophagous nematodes causing the greatest damage to potato crops in the Andean region of Argentina.
