Resumen:
The analysis of skin and parenchyma of different Andean potato varieties (Solanum tuberosum subsp. andigenum) from Argentina and Bolivia revealed the presence of different soil nematodes. In samples collected in the provinces of Salta (Colanzuli: “chacarera”, “collareja”, “tuni” and “runa”; Pueblo Viejo: “ojosa” and “redonda”) and Jujuy (Casira: “collareja” and “malcacha”; Chaupi Rodeo: “churqueña”, “colorada” “redonda” and “runa”; Santa Ana: “cuarentilla”, “runa” and “tuni blanca”) third and fourth stage juveniles were found, as well as immature females of Nacobbus aberrans. “Runa” tubers (Colanzuli and Chaupi Rodeo) were also infected with mature females and egg masses of Meloidogyne incognita. Cysts of Globodera sp. were observed in eyes of “collareja” (Colanzuli). Numerous females and juveniles belonging to the genus Hexatylus were also extracted from potatoes of the latter variety from Casira. N. aberrans specimens were detected in “sani” (Cochabamba) and “imilla” tubers (Villazón) from Bolivia. The latter variety was also infected with M. incognita. The exchange of potatoes between producers of neighbouring communities contributes to the dispersal of nematodes harmful to this crop, thus extending its distribution in the Andean region.
