Resumen:
This study intends to take a look at some of the specific mechanisms used for technological transfers in Argentina?s early industrialization period, spanning from 1900 to 1930, focusing on how this process unfolded by analyzing the specific experiences of some companies with available information. This analysis draws from the notion that business history relies on the study of technological transfer patterns to complement contemporary research efforts by other disciplines, challenging theories or, at the very least, providing relevant information for conceptualizations. In addition to this introduction, this chapter features three sections. The first one zeroes in on the role of MNCs as technological transfer agents, while the second section describes how immigrant engineers helped to disseminate technologies, and the third offers a number of concluding remarks.
