Resumen:
EFFECT OF YOGHURT AS COMPLEMENT OF RENUTRITION DIET IN MALNOURISHED MICE. P.Gauffin Cano1,2; G.Agüero2 y G.Perdigón1,2. 1-Centro de Referencia para Lactobacilos (CERELA). Chacabuco 145.  (4000). Tucumán. Argentina. 2- UNT. The yoghurt (Yo) has nutritional properties and good effects on immune system and intestinal microflora of health hosts. Objective: to study if Yo administration could be positive in malnourished host to induce immunostimulation during a simultaneous renutrition. Mat. and Meth.: Balb/c mice after weaning were malnourished (M) with a lack protein diet for 21 days (d). Then they were renourished (R) with 10%-not fat milk for 7 d.The R group received Yo at different concentrations; pure (YoP) or diluted 1/2 (Yo1/2), for 2, 5 or 7 consecutive d. At the end of each treatment we determined:1)Body weight (BW). We use 2)hematoxylin-eosin stain on tissue sections of small intestine to study intestinal structure, 3)counting of goblet cells using Alcian-blue stain and 4)IgA+ cells using IF test. Results: 1)Yo induced significant increase of BW after 5 d of administration (Normal=25,8±1,5; M=10,4±1,2; R=12,1±1,6; R+5dYoP=20±1,6-g).-2)The renutrition improved the intestinal epithelio and  Yo induced  slight inflammation. 3)the N° of goblet cells were increased in R group but not for Yo one with exception Yo1/2 for 7 d (N=45,7±2,6; M=23,3±3,1;R=38,6±2,7;R+7dYo1/2=47±1,6-N° cells / 10 villus). 4) The runutrition and Yo enhanced of the Nº of IgA+ cells-(Normal=-86±2,8;M=43,7±3;R=79,6±2,7;-R+7dYo1/2= 115,3±3,1 N° cells/10 fields). Conclusions: Yo induced a faster recovery of nutritional and immunological parameters when it was used as a complement of renutrition diet. We think that it could be more effective on an advanced nutritional  treatment to avoid the slight inflamation response observed.
