Resumen:
Grid computing is the coordination of large collections of resources to provide a platformfor the execution of resource-intensive applications. OurGrid is an open source grid middleware based on a peer-to-peer architecture. This middleware enables the creation of P2P (peer-too-peer) computacional grids, and since, its first release in December 2004, it has been used by hundres of users to speed up theexecution of Bag-of-Tasks applications. There include parameter sweep simulations, image rendering, optimization algoritms, and many others. The software is written in Java, allowing any resource capable of running a Java Virtual Machine to be tappes on tothe grid.* Facilitates the sharing of instruments, computers, storage, data, information, expertise.* Allows the federation of large amounts of resources* Is secure, safe, reliable, highly available, easy-to-manage.The objective is to have a network of collaborative grid using this tool for so to share computing resources which may be available when required.
