Resumen:
We present a generalization of the Continuum-Distorted Wave-Eikonal Initial State (CDW-EIS) approximation, for the description of single electron capture in ion-atom collisions involving multielectron atomic targets. We develop this approximation within the framework of the independent electron model (IEM). In this generalized CDW-EIS approximation, the field due to the nucleus and the passive electrons is represented by the same spherically symmetric model potential in both the initial and final channels, with resulting orthogonal bound and continuum target wavefunctions. These wavefunctions are obtained by solving numerically the one electron Schrodinger equation with a Hartree-Fock-Slater target model potential. We performed an exhaustive study of differential cross section for H+ + He(1s) collisions, at different energies. Present results are compared to previous CDW-EIS ones and with experimental data. The new calculations are in excellent agreement with the experiments in all the angular region, improving remarkably the description of the Thomas peak Total cross sections for single electron capture from the K-shell of He, Ne and Ar noble gases by impact bare ions are also calculated. The generalized CDW-EIS results provide an excellent description of the experiments and improved largely the previous CDW-EIS calculations.
