Resumen:
Cataclysmic variables are binaries with short orbital period, composed by a low main sequence star and a white dwarf that accretes mass from its companion. The normal star fills its Roche lobe and transfers mass to the compact star through the Lagrangian point L1. We present our first calculations dedicated to describe this group of binary systems. In particular, in this contribution we search for a possible progenitor to SS Cyg. For that purpose, we use our binary evolutionary code, looking for initial conditions that lead us to models with features compatible with those of the system today.
