The Evaluation of the European Commission for the Control of Foot-and-Mouth Disease (EuFMD) Phase V(2019?2023) was launched at the beginning of September 2023. It aims to inform EuFMD Member Nations, the European Commission (EC) and the FAO about the performance of EuFMD in delivering the Phase V work programme in a manner that will support the design and implementation of the Phase VI work programme (2023?2027).The evaluation pursued four broad lines of enquiry, namely: (i) Programme for Member Nations capacitydevelopment for FAST disease emergency preparedness; (ii) Tools and systems developed for assisting emergency preparedness and response capacity of Member Nations; (iii) Contribution to risk reduction Neighbouring countries; and (iv) Programme to sustain the global FMD control strategy. The evaluation collected data from multiple sources through document review, key informant interviews, a questionnaire survey of focal points, and expert judgement and observations
