Resumen:
Abstract.  in the present study, a comparative photodynamictherapy (pdt) study was performed using the phthalocyaninederivatives, Znpc(Och3)4 and Znpc(cF3)4, in a mouse tumormodel, under identical experimental procedures. We studiedthe ablation of tumors induced by  pdt. the end-point wasto compare the photodynamic effcacy of ZnPc(OCH3)4 andZnpc(cF3)4. Znpc(Och3)4 and Znpc(cF3)4 were administeredintraperitoneally at a dose of 0.2 mg/kg body weight.  theinjections of drugs were carried out in Balb/c mice bearingsubcutaneously inoculated lm2 mouse mammary adenocar-cinoma.  histological examination and serum biochemicalparameters were used to evaluate hepatic and renal toxicityand function.  phototherapeutic studies were achievedemploying a light intensity of 210 J/cm2. after pdt, tumoralregression analyses were carried out, and the degree of tumorcell death was measured utilizing the vital stain Evan´s blue.in this pilot study, we revealed that the cytotoxic effect ofZnpc(Och3)4 after pdt led to a higher success rate comparedto Znpc(cF3)4-pdt when both were intraperitoneally injec-tioned. Both phthalocynanine derivatives were able to induceablation in the tumors. in summary, these results demonstratethe feasibility of Znpc(Och3)4- or Znpc(cF3)4-pdt and itspotential as a treatment for small tumors.
