Resumen:
Since 2005, and in the context of an importantdeclination in the reserves of conventional hydrocarbon resources, Argentinahas been facing the challenge of maintaining the production level of gas, themain component of its energy matrix. The difference between the demand andproduction curves should be compensated by fluids from new non-conventionalreservoirs, mainly Shale Gas.In many of the recently discovered fields, theproduced fluids could be classified as near-critical, with some casespresenting retrograde condensation of around 30%. Material balances andnumerical simulations, which are used for predicting the fluids productionbehavior and proposing development strategies, require an adequatecharacterization of the reservoir fluids and a good fitting of the laboratorydata, in order to adequately reproduce fields and wells behaviors. This work presents data and also results andconclusions based on the thermodynamic modelling of these fluids, with focus onsaturation points and retrograde behavior. Both the Peng-Robinson and RKPREoS?s were used, together with different ways of characterizing the heavyfractions. Volume shifts were applied in order to better predict the volumetricbehavior.
