Resumen:
In the River Plate, unlike the rest of Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula, the "liberal reforms" on the property of public land were mainly implemented in individual and not corporate key; even showing the juridical situation of the native communities some particularities, as they were not acknowledged as Indian peoples with a particular territory of its own. In this work, we propose an approach to this complex and dynamic process, through the analysis of a frontier space that synthesized the multiplicity ways of spontaneous and official occupation that were imposed in Buenos Aires province during a crucial time like the 19th century. We consider jointly the ejidal space and its rural surrounding -an outlook that is not much developed yet-, the tensions between "Indias" and "liberal" regulations and the social practices of different sectors (like neighbors, ancient and new settlers, indigenous groups, etc.).
